Breakthroughs in Radiology Technology
In 1895, Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen explained the properties of x rays, and thus radiography began. Just weeks after his discovery, Rontgen took an image of the hand of his wife. He was able to clearly see her finder bones and wedding ring. Today we still benefit from the imaging technology, but has come a long way. Now, if you have broken a bone, doctors can tell exactly where and how to fix it. X rays were used in medical diagnoses very soon after discovery. Unfortunately, this came before we knew of the dangers of ionizing radiation. Thankfully, scientists eventually figured out the dangers of the radiation, and xray accessories were designed for our protection. Medical device sales people now provide top of the line lead aprons, lead glasses, and other
